A strong, flexible and well balanced core underpins almost everything you do, from rising out of a chair to strolling down the block or engaging in sports or any number of other activities.
Here are some ways that a strong core can help you throughout your day:
Bending to put on your shoes
Lifting up a package
Turning to look behind you
Climbing the stairs
Sitting in a chair
Or simply standing still
These are just a few of many mundane actions that rely on your core and that you might not notice until they become difficult or painful.
Even basic activities of daily living like the below listed, can call on your core!
Taking a bath
Or getting dressed
Jobs that involve lifting, twisting and standing all rely on the core muscles. But less strenuous tasks like sitting at your desk for hours engage your core as well. Phone calls, using the computer and similiar work can make back muscles surprisingly stiff and sore especially if you're not strong enough to practice good posture and aren't takin enough breaks!
